Fringe Young Writers Award
The Fringe Young Writers Award was set up in 2018 to encourage the next generation of arts writers in the 16–21 age category. The winner receives mentoring from arts writers at the Scotsman and paid work as part of the paper’s review team at the following year's Fringe.

Conditions of entry
- Entrants for the Fringe Young Writers Award must be aged between 16 and 21 on 26 August.
- Entrants are invited to submit up to three entries.
- All work submitted must relate to the 2024 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
- Each piece of published work must be a between 100 and 500 words.
- Entries from print publications must include the date, page number and full title of the publication in which the submission appears for printed entries. If the submission has only appeared online it must be online and accessible until 06 September 2024 and the entrant must provide the full URL for the submission. We will also consider unpublished work.
- Submissions must reach the Fringe Media Office by 12 noon on 06 September 2024.
- All entries should be submitted digitally to: media@edfringe.com
- The decision of the judging panel is final.
- Employees of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society are not eligible to enter.
- Winners will be announced on 09 September.
